Our Story
Every scent unlocks a memory.
Elsewhere began with something everyone already knows: a smell can drop you, all at once, back at your favourite place.
A terrace at golden hour. A veranda after warm rain. A lamplit room a long way from home. Most fragrance brands name things after a mood — cozy, fresh, relaxing. We wanted ours named after a memory instead, because moods fade by the afternoon and memories don't.
So every Elsewhere diffuser is built around an actual place and an actual hour of the day — not an abstraction. Positano Spritz is golden hour on the coast. Aspen Fireside is dusk, cold air, warm wood. The scent does the work a photograph can't: it puts you back there, not just reminds you it happened.
Because the best souvenir was never a fridge magnet. It's the way a room can smell like somewhere you've been.
Why refills exist
We didn't want to sell you the same candle twice.
One vessel, every place. A Starter is the vessel, natural reeds, and your first oil — built to be refilled, not thrown out when the scent fades.
Top it up, not throw it out. A Refill is just the oil, at a lower price than starting over — better for your shelf, and better for the planet.
Go somewhere new whenever. Refill the same place again, or switch destinations entirely. The vessel doesn't care which memory you choose next.
The four things we don't compromise on
Flame-free, always-on. No flame, no plug, no upkeep — just months of steady fragrance from a single fill.
Refillable by design. Every vessel is built to be topped up for years, not replaced every season.
Named for a memory. Every collection is a real place and a real hour of day — not a mood word picked from a wheel.
Ships from the US. Fast, tracked delivery, free over $50 — wherever your next place is.
A note from the founder
"I kept noticing that every candle brand sold a feeling, but never the actual place. I wanted to make something that skipped the feeling and went straight for the memory — so I built Elsewhere around destinations you could name, not moods you had to guess at."
— Héra Monroe, Founder, Elsewhere
